Dead By Daylight Singularity Killer Mori, Power and Perks News For Chapter 28

Dead By Daylight's 7th Anniversary is in full swing Nic Cage reveals and all. But let's not get distracted, because the new Year 8 Roadmap has also revealed a brief look at the new killer 'The Singularity' coming to the game in Chapter 28.

This chapter is titled 'End Transmission' and unlike any other chapter before it, takes place on an otherworldly planet. If a mysterious and terrifying planet housing the remnants of an ancient civilization wasn't scary enough, The Entity has someone made its way to this world, bringing with it a terrifying new killer.

For everything we know about the new killer coming to the game, read on. Otherwise, head over to our complete Chapter 28 guide (link above) for everything else you need to know about the game's next major update.

Here's what we know so far about The Singularity.

As per Behavior Interactive, the newest Killer to step into The Fog, The Singularity is "a monstrous amalgamation of restructured organic matter and machine parts seeking to assimilate all organic life and become the perfect lifeform."

Speaking to GINX ahead of the full reveal, it was conveyed that The Singularity is effectively AI gone rogue.

"It's supposed to be helping the human crew steal on this new planet," explained Dave Richard, Creative Director on Dead By Daylight. "But while it was scouting for potential dangers it got in touch with a piece of old alien technology and was enlightened. Now it wants to torture and kill all humans."

"It's a piece of software using machinery and organic material, and human flesh to become more mobile and powerful. The singularity is on a quest to assimilate, every living organism in the universe, Assimilating DNA to become the perfect living organism. It is vastly intelligent, not a mindless killing machine, It is connected. Omniscient, It learns that adapts and evolve at an extraordinary rate."

A dark Crystalline structure in an ancient ruin gifted - or perhaps cursed - Hux with sentience. He build a new body, and with it, a terrifying way to bend the rules of physics to his benefit.

The Singularity can shoot and spawn Biopods around the map; these Biopods can attach to any verticle surface they land on. The Singularity can control a Biopod remotely and look through it, and tag Survivors, afflicting them with a Temporal Slipstream. When slipstreamed, The Singularity can teleport next to the Slipstreamed Survivor either by using the Biopods to tag them, or by shooting them. When a Slipstreamed Survivor is in proximity to another Survivor, the Slipstream can spread.

SPECIAL STATE OVERCLOCK MODE

After a successful Slipstream teleport, the Singularity enters Overlock Mode. In this state, walls and pallets can be destroyed faster, vaulting speed is faster and he cannot be stunned by pallets. Attempts to stun by pallet merely remove Overclock Mode and momentarily slow the Singularity.

SPECIAL INTERACTION: ELECTROMAGNETIC PULSE

At the beginning of each Trial, several supply cases spawn, each containing an EMP. Survivors can use these EMPs to remove the Slipstream from themselves or others, or to briefly disable a Biopod. Once used, the EMP is destroyed.

[Original Story Follows] - So far, we've not been given the specific details about The Singularity's Killer power, we imagine that will be revealed once the killer hits the Public Test Build (PTB) of the game on May 23.

However, Dave Richard did give GINX an idea of what to expect from The Singularity's Killer Power, which is called 'Quantum Instantiation'.

"This power is to place bio-pods," Richard told us. "They're like blobs of used organs and machines. That stick to almost any surface throughout the map. The bio-pods allow The Singularity to project its consciousness into these spots. So, they are able to serve the area to spy on Survivors and to attach organic material to the survivors.

"That last part is called the 'Slipstream Effect'. And when the Survivor is Slipstreamed, the singularity can teleport to their location and attack. So like I said it's called quantum sensation and it speaks of the omnipresence of the singularity, which is quite literally, everywhere.

When a Survivor finishes the healing action, they suffer the Exhausted status effect for 24/28/32 seconds.

When a Survivor is put into the dying state by any means, all other Survivors standing within 16/16/16 meters around them suffer the hindered Status effect for 10/10/10 seconds, reducing their Movement speed by 15%. This perk goes on cooldown for 60/50/40 seconds.

After performing the damage generator action, Machine Learning activates. While this perk is active, the next generator you damage will be compromised until it is completed. The generator is highlighted in Yellow. When the compromised generator is completed, you become undetectable and gain 7% Haste for 20/25/30 seconds. Then, Machine Learning deactivates. If you break a gen while another generator is compromised, the compromised generator moves to the latest one kicked.

[Original Story Follows] - We should have a proper look at the new killer Mori as soon as it's added to the game's PTB, next week.

For now, we'll have to wait, but we suspect that the Singularity's big scythe and a need for human flesh are going to mean the Mori involves a lot of slicing and dicing.

That being said, it looks like the Anniversary stream gave fans a small sneak peak at the Mori in action, just before the gory end. You can see it on the screenshot just below.

Stay tuned for more details in the coming days. We'll update this page again with more details once The Singularity hits the Dead By Daylight PTB.
